GIRL. I don't know about you, but I've been getting really excited about Fall being right around the corner...
This is one of those times of year when every girl says "Fall is my time." Clothes are hard in the Summer and Winter, but when Fall rolls around there's a new found confidence that comes through in every scarf, pair of earrings, leather boots and cute jacket!
This is also one of those times of year when it can feel like you really want to do some updating to your wardrobe. So, I wanted to encourage you to do a few things as the temps start dropping...
1. Think about what can serve you in other seasons as you shop
I know, I know...that doesn't sound fun-BUT it's totally worth it if you don't want to be wondering what to wear when warmer weather rolls around again. Search for solid basic pieces that you can transition into different seasons. Breathable tees are a great place to start, like our Delta tee. Not only are they a staple, but it's a great way to build an outfit! Starting with a tee and jeans opens up the door for possibilities. Add a jacket and some cute shoes for a more done up look! Or add a cardigan and slip ons for a casual outfit.
2. Go for quality
I know Target is advertising to you right now, but think about the longevity of what you're purchasing. A cheap price right now likely means that item will need to be replaced within a year, which means you'll be spending that money again to replace that piece. Instead, consider buying fewer items that are higher quality. They'll last you for so much longer, and will be less expensive in the long run. Check out our Roya top for an organic cotton flannel that fits the bill.
3. It's okay to be a little funky
In general, trends don't seem to appeal to me. That being said, I do like a little funk now and again. A fun earring or accessory always draws my eye! The older I get, the more I leave the bold colors or patterns to the accessories. Classic clothing items will take you through many walks of life, so let your boldness be drawn out in smaller items! Scarves or earrings are great ways to spice things up a bit without spending lots of money on a just another trendy top. Check out our jewelry collection to see what speaks to you!
Fall is one of my favorite times of year, and one of my favorite seasons to dress for. Keep these tips in mind as you navigate your Fall wardrobe! You're bound to start some really amazing shopping habits by slowing down, supporting local and shopping ethically sourced and sustainably made pieces.
